Agree with both points above. Many public sector employers will require it as a minimum and so can get you through the door but is not the be all in PM. If you can, do both at the same time, Foundation is 3 days, Practitioner another 2 days including the exam.0

When I did mine it was billed as a 5 day course but in reality:
Day 1 - Introductions + training
Day 2 - training
Day 3 - 0.5 day training + 1 hour exam, early finish
Day 4 - recap of training
Day 5 - 1 hour Q&A + Exam, very early finish
In our course there were about 20 people for Foundation and all but one passed (they passed on resit done on the same day)
18 stayed on to do the Practitioner (incl the one that failed first time on Foundation) and 17 passed (the one that failed failed again)
A lot of places quote a low national average pass rate but a massive company pass rate - I dont know where they get their stats from but I only know of that one lass who failed and to be honest, I was surprised she even managed to work out how to get in the office let alone pass any form of exam.0 -

Interested in the Groupon deal but is it worth paying £99 for the online course if you've still got to pay for the exams?
I've not been able to find the exam only price, can anyone assist please?0 -
Quick search:
Foundation exam only: roughly £150-£220,
Practitioner exam only: roughly £320-£395.0 -
The problem is that many providers will not let you just come in and sit exams at their centre even if you pay the fee because they are not in control of your learning and your result will go into their success rates, therefore a higher risk of a fail.0

Prince2 will be good on the CV and has good elements to use practically. Best for larger projects but can be tailored0

I've got PRINCE2 Practitioner, and I found the course very interesting and stimulating; they say there are no trick questions, but some of them hinge on the use of a singular vs plural word.
I'm not sure it's helped my c.v. in particular though.
On the funding thing, it may be worth asking when you sign on as unemployed, as there is a scheme; however, if you find a job it is immediately withdrawn, so it is slightly counter-productive.0
