Maybe bad publicity from threads like this will make them change their practice, as it must be putting people off buying from them!
In this day and age it just doesn't make sense to put barriers up, instead of making it as easy as possible for people to part with their (scarce) cash...

When I see companies doing silly things, that show they don't know what they are doing, sooner or later they get into trouble because they are not keeping up with what consumers want.
