Direct Debit Request for more personal info

I have just received an email from our House Insurer (Intasure) stating the following:- " Under the new Consumer Credit Act we are required to provide the name, address and date of birth. This information is used to demonstrate that we have the necessary information to identify our customer. It is also to protect you against money laundering and financial crime."
In goes on to ask for my/our dates of birth.
The mail seems genuine with policy no etc

Anybody know anything about this

I don't think I would be inclined to give it in an email.

Perhaps print off the email and post it to the insurers' address.

Have you called your insurer's customer service line (not on a phone number from the email)?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
