Ebay shop / keyword spam /Search returns

Thinking of opening an ebay shop for one line I have.
Wondering if anyone knows how few items need to appear on an ebay search return for shop items to appear?
Also thinking I could get rid of about a third of the listings that appear in a search for possible keyword spamming.
They are selling an item that's similar and made by the same manufacturer but a different model number.
There's only one model number that's really valuable and sellers are adding this model number to their titles to attract attention would this be sufficent grounds to report for keyword spamming?

Sure would.
I often (when searching for something) report keyword spamming.
And whilst some people would no doubt tell me to get a life, I get annoyed sellers feel it's ok to flaunt the rules to increase their sales, thus me reporting them is a small effort to stop these idiots.
It's like (for example)
Nokia 3210 (not N90, N6230i) etc
If I wanted a 3210 i'd flipping search for one. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Just to clarify, if you list something, say a jumper as being from Next (and it is), that's okay. BUT, if you say it's 'like Next', then that's spamming? (sorry to hijack).0

Yep.
Because it's not from Next, so you cannot use the word Next. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

I would say that it depends how many people have the same idea as you regarding keywords.
for example, I have managed to get our shop to the very top of shop search lists for our main line, by using the plural of this word in all my relevant listings, I only have 31 things in this category, some shops have in excess of 500, but they must only have the singular item in the title, how they haven't spotted this is beyond me as they are massive powersellers. of course it only applies to items that people would search for in the plural.
however in the singular, I am about half way down the page , nothing I can do about that. If someone searched for childrens *****, we are the ONLY shop listed ! (but you have to go into shops to search).
the thing that really annoys me, is on the main category search page, before you specify shops, my shop is not shown in the left hand list of "shops in this category"
, click on see all shops, and we are right there at the top! the trouble is , how many people just click on the first shop listed instead of clicking see all? probably most, judging by our non-existent sales at the minute! me no understanding!!!!! "There is a light that never goes out"0
