Appealing parking ticket

Hello! On saturday I parked in a council operated car park. As carpark was full complitedly, and the car the next bay parked in wicked angle, there was no other way for me to park my car A little bit out of box marking (20cm max). When I returned back the car, that was in the next bay to mine were gone, and I have got a parking ticket from a council for "Parking outside the box makrings". Next to bay, where mine car was parked, was some drawing with yellow lines, as that was the last bay in the carpark row. There was no way for me to park otherwise. And because of my stupidity I dont have any photos or anything.
Any advice?

Are you sure it is a council ticket ? I ask as in my experience councils tend to be less bothered about parking slightly outside markings etc. How much is the "fine" and to whom is it payable ?

    What is the contravention code?

EDIT: Actually, scrub that - just remembered that PPCs use exactly the same contravention codes as local councils to give their tickets that extra air of 'legitimacy'...

50 pounds that can be reduced by a discount of 50% It has South Glouchestershire council logo on the top. And if I will pay by post it says that I need to make a check payable to South Glouchestershire council. So I bellive that it is a Genuine one. I do want to challenge it. I just trying to think about how to do that and what to write in. They ask to do that by email to parklegally@southglos.co.uk

OK - you should always appeal a council ticket ( don't ignore it ). Your best bet is to start a new thread here http://www.pepipoo.com/ with a scan of the ticket ( removing any personal data ). Pepipoo are the experts in this case.

By all means challenge the ticket. However, be prepared for the fact that the Council will pretty certainly turn down your challenge "in-house". Councils can be as bad as PPCs when it comes to grabbing money.

However, if you persist with your appeal to the independent adjudicator you should meet with greater success.

Seconded. Go to pepipoo and win the appeal in the end (most do):

That's the exact forum you need to post on.

    Good luck.

Just a tip, look carefully at the notices which relate to parking. Some car parks have faulty notices and you could use this to help with any appeal.

Do I need to phone or write to the council, so they stop that period of 2 weeks, when I get 50% discount. And that they stoped that claim while I appealing?

What do you mean? It's clear on the PCN. You write and appeal before day 14. No phone calls with a PCN, pointless!!
