I was in Shane Retail Park, Boucher Road (Homebase, Dunelm etc) and noticed that UKPC now have notices up stating that the free parking is a maximum of 3 hours and that a charge will be levied after this time.

Why would you want to park there for more than 3 hours? Seems reasonable enough to me.

Thanks for the info on this. Just to make everyone know that these "charges" are unenforcable. They are not "fines" but speculative invoices. See the forum section on parking tickets etc at: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

I cant see why anyone would park here for more than 3 hours either but it's the fact that you will be charged (I think it was £90) for going over this despite the fact that parking is FREE and the owners of the car park will have therefore lost nothing if you did overstay.
