If you refuse to take my money Travelex can you demand it back later on?

6 weeks ago I purchased some foreign currency online for collection at the Airport from Travelex.
When I went to pay for the money in cash at the Airport they refused to take my money three times even though I insisted I had not paid.
Yesterday they contact me demanding immediate payment and refuse to even apologise even though it is their mistake. Why is it that companies like this can be such bullies even though they made the error?

Well you still owe them the money for your currency transaction. I thought every time you completed online for pick up at the airport they would refuse your money anyway..

Yes, you owe the money
Yes, they're behaving like idiots
Pay them with a note about their rude approach, and never use them again.0 -
It's not paying it back that is the problem its a company making out like it is my fault and not theirs for claiming I had paid when I asked. If they had apologised and treated me better I wouldn't be so narked.0

Well ask them for a payment plan that should cause them a bit of a headache and even if they don't agree you should be annoying them.
Alternatively tell them you will pay when they issue you with an apology and admit fault (fault might be pushing it a bit) put that in writing just in case they get silly.
Just mess them around a bit.0 -
Tell them you will pay them after they request payment in an apology letter.0

This thread shouldn't be in Consumer Rights, they've done nothing wrong.
Should be in Praise, Vents and Warnings.0 -
Why would you need an apology for the company requesting payment?0

You do owe them the money. I'd write back and advise whoever has written to you about what happened at the airport. I doubt that this would've been reported to them. If they change their attitude, fine. Pay with good grace. If not, still pay, but make them jump through a few hoops first. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Because they are now demanding payment and the OP has to make the effort to pay despite them offering to do so 3 times when they actually collected the foreign currency.
Yes they are legally entitled to their money, but as the reason they do not yet have it is due to them screwing up and a polite letter asking for it would be far better than one demanding immediate payment.
Phoenix, you should ask Travelex if they will cover the costs that you incur by paying. Unless you visit one of their outlets and pay in cash, you will have to do it by credit or debit card and this will class as a cash advance and will probably attract a fee from your card issuer.0 -

In your opinion. Which is incorrect.
They refused to take the OPs money originally; this was their mistake. By definition making a mistake is doing something wrong.0
