Check out the Student board for this (best place!)

There are loads of threads about the OU under a quick search!

I do one - as long as you are sure you can fit it around your current commitments (something does have to give - usually your social life, that I dont have anyway!!) then go for it!
• Thanks i google it

• I've done several but gave up (hopefully temporarily) in the end as it hoovered up all my spare time. As I'm one of those IT bods who tends to have to work fairly long hours already, I ended up with zero spare time, even on the weekends. That wasn't good as it didn't leave me with any time to recover from both studying and work. I also found the OU's estimate as to how much time per week you had to spend studying hopelessly off (too low).

However I enjoyed the upside, the mental stimulation as I was studying some non-IT related subject.

I'd say, go for it if you and your social circle can live with the downsides.

Hello millwalll

I'll move your thread to the 'Student' board, where it should get more responses.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

• I'm sure this has been said somewhere but you can now use Tescos clubcard vouchers to pay of OU courses - well worth it for 4 x the value, especially once you get onto the course that cost £500+ !! This new deal has given me the kick-start I needed to enroll - I've run of out excuses now! ;)

• Thanks RufusFrog.
Make sure you send off for them well before the registration date deadline. Tesco were very prompt with mine (you can order them online now) but I don't know how quickly the OU process them.
I've enrolled on my first course just this weekend - doesn't start until June though which is a bit frustrating now I've taken the plunge!
