Hi all!

Could anyone recommend a decent mechanic/garage in SE London area (Greenwich/Lewisham/Woolwich/Charlton/..etc)? Would be willing to travel as well. Would rather go with someone via personal recommendation.

Unfortunately have had not so good experiences in the past and mechanics i have come across were just trying to pull a fast one, making up work that doesn't need doing :(.

If you know anyone please either post or PM me there details

Thanks!

It depends what work your car needs......we use Big M for servicing etc, website here....

We've always found them to be really honest and they don't add unnecessary jobs to bump up their charges. My family and friend have used them for years, my brother lives miles away now and he still brings his car and van to them for servicing.

(No, none of us work for them!)

ps...the Woolwich branch is hard to get to at the moment, last week the road was blocked off with the roadworks for the new Tescos building. It may be clear now though.

I'm glad a read this post, as I was also looking for a good mechanic in south east London, and decided to try Big M as a result of Barbiedoll's recommendation.

I booked by car for a major service, and they were prompt, courteous and professional throughout the experience. The car was ready at the time specified, and they didn't charge me for any made up extras or parts/services I didn't need.

The price was less than half of what the local main dealership was charging, and they also stamped my service history.

I don't work for them either, but I feel honest, reliable mechanics should be encouraged. Thanks Barbiedoll. :T
