Switch the ethernet cable from the PC on the router to another port. Sometimes it happens....0

When you say no one else has a problem with the connection, do you mean using the wireless? (if yes, then your wireless isn't the problem)
Is it a desktop, or a laptop?
Laptop: Have you switched off the Wireless adaptor somehow by sliding a button on the edges of the laptop?
Desktop: Do you have any ! in your devices menu. Typically accessed by right mouse button clicking on "my computer" then selecting "manage" then go down the list on the left and select "device manager" (also found by typing in Device Manager on the start menu (Win7)0 -
hi
sorry to confuse you, what i meant was the router is working fine, we have laptops and i pad and have no problems with the wireless, its just my laptop

Have you been through the fix that your computer offers you when you try to start up a browser? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

From the Start button select "settings" and then "Network Connections".
Select the Realtek LAN and double click it.
Select "Enable" button.0 -
If the above post doesn't work, you may find that the wireless adaptor doesn't work anymore. You could just solve that with a cheap usb wireless dongle off ebay, or amazon, or if you want to pay much more, go to argos, or comet, currys etc.
Try the enable fix, or remove the ethernet cable, click on the ! that should show up on the task bar for internet/wireless and go through the fix my network guide that way.
If all that doesnt work, try a dongle and see if that does it.0 -

The wireless switch on my Toshiba Satellite is a slide switch on the front next to and left of the catch that opens the laptop lid, there is an orange indicator to tell you when it is on.0 -

On mine it's on the right side, towards the front. Again has an orange indicator when it's on.
Having said that, if the computer is saying it's disconnected (not 'disabled') then it sounds as if the switch is on (although worth checking)
Can you see the wireless icon in the tray (near the clock)?
Which version of Windows?
Have you tried rebooting the router? How do I add a signature?0
