Thansk atpug, yes that is still one of the options, but investing abroad does seem attractive and with the benefit of ending up with a continuing investment out there whilst paying off my own mortgage.
Yes that’s is right too. But investing abroad does not guarantee any returns and you could always lose what you invest. It’s a good idea if you have sufficient income and other savings available in case your investments don’t perform very well.
Its you cash and thus your decision at the end of the day. Personally I would consider reducing as many debts as one has as priority including a mortgage.

This is not investing, it is speculating and as such, highly risky.investing abroad does seem attractive
Alternatively, with the millstone of an unsellable property for which you paid far too much round your neck for the next 10 or 20 years. Your own original idea was a far better one, I'm afraid.with the benefit of ending up with a continuing investment out there0 -
Yes it is a risk, but it be trend apon very carefully. It's just an option at this stage i have checked the company in question and i will be protect via the bank if it all hits the fan as it were.
I may invest a small proportion of the cash towards it.0 -

The FIRST thing to check out is your "exit strategy" - how to get your money out if you need to withdraw it.
All to often, as here, you are likely to be unable to do it without making a loss.Trying to keep it simple...
