I'm very pleased with tonights impromptu shop. I would have bought a whole lot more but I wanted to test the wife's reaction to the value range products before bringing home a trolley load! :rotfl:
I bought
2xTesco Value Penne Pasta (30p)
2xValue Spaghetti (35p on B1G1F)
1xValue Lasagne Sheets (19p)
1xValue Baked Beans (29p)
1xValue Chopped Tomatoes (29p, should have been 31p but SA scanned the beans twice instead of each tin individually)
1kg Value Rice (40p)
7 Bananas (£1.01 )
and then the whoopsies
5 pork loin steaks 60p
Double Pepperoni Pizza 18p
Chicken Masala 45p
Kung Po Chicken 45p
Deli Counter Ham 29p
and then the DTD
2 packs of cooked prawns. Marked "half Price [STRIKE]£6[/STRIKE] £3" but scanned at £6
All the above came to £16.80. I used a £5 moneycard sent to me by Ts to apologise for the price check not working and paid the balance of £11.80 by cash. I didn't mind paying £11.80 cash because very shortly afterwards I got £12 cash back from CS when I claimed my DTD. So thank you Ts for paying me to take away my shopping....again
For anyone interested in the prawns DTD I can tell you that it was 240g of Lyons King Prawns. My store had them in 2 different places.
Place #1 was amongst all other sea food, with a £6 SEL and with all the red stickers saying "Half Price [STRIKE]£6 [/STRIKE]£3" covered up
Place #2 was the end of an aisle. Here the stock was mixed in with Lyons 200g JUMBO King Prawns in identical packagaing except for the word "JUMBO". Beware, the JUMBO prawn pack is on promotion until 1/5/12 and it does scan at £3. You want the pack shown below
I could have bought 20 packs but I knew I couldn't possibly fit any more into my freezerApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

Ok I have a question that is completely OT ... really numpty ... and relates to my TV.
I have a flat screen TV on the wall (far above little fingers) and today I finally got an electrician to move the socket to behind the screen. Now I can't turn the bloomin' thing off. The power switch on the front of the TV and on remote just switches it to standby ... I've tried looking for another physical switch along the sides of the set but can't see/feel any and I can't get my hand to the plug or the socket switch.
PS ... I have downloaded a manual which is tells you how to do everything apart from switch the damn thing off ... oh and I also found this on a FAQ link on a product support site but think it really is referring to a Power button not an 'off' switch.Does my TV have an 'off' switch?Anyone any ideas?
[FONT="]All new LG TVs (April ’09 onwards) have an 'off' switch. This is located with the other control buttons on the TV, either on the right hand side on the unit or on the bottom edge. Prior to April '09, TVs made after 2006 did not have an off switch, although some did have a physical standby switch.[/FONT]Am I ok to go to bed?

I've experenced this many times. Seriously, i could have posted that word for word.
The "lady" who most often tries to grab all the bargains for herself in our A's is quite short. A few of the SAs have started to deliberately unload the best whoopsies onto the top shelf so that the rest of us can get them by reaching right over her head

Most of the new tellys have as the faq says the buttons on the top or bottom. But if you can't find them just leave your telly on standby. Mine is on standby most of the time, not mse I know.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

And an update on me!
:o
SSM goody bag arrived this morn :T
All 3 price checks inputted at 2am Sunday have come back as receipt details not found! :mad:Clearly there's a massive problem I don't understand how they haven't picked it up! 2 were wombles to yopmail and one was a JTD shop to my main email. It says to resubmit so I resubmitted and it said already processing, clicked back and forward a few times to see if it would pop up but to no avail so inputted again and it said something along the lines of 'our appologies but on this rare occasion we are unable to compare your receipt and we appologise for any incovenience' no mention to resubmit  So I resubmitted with a minute differenceWill see what happens! Not touching my JTD one yet, HO will have a call about that one if I can't sort out the wombles first. Don't want to risk losing it
Popped to see a friend/ex work colleague this afternoon for a cuppa which was lovely
Then I went whoopsying :T
In M's I bought carrot and corriander fresh soup 9p, double cream 9p, tub of cookies 19p and tub of coconut macaroons 19p= 56p
In T's I timed it just right for once! But I was a bit angry at the S/A! There were 10 Tapas on the shelf and she told me she hadn't reduced them yet. AT the same time as I picked one up and saw that she had infact already reduced them a guy picked up 2 and walked off. So I quickly nabbed the other 8!
I would have shared but there was no-one there. So 8 Tapas at 50p each, 3 fresh cottage pies 41p each, Value cheese and tom pizza 20p, Hot Cross Buns 10p + Value custard creams.
= £5.84 - £5 Tapas multibuy - 72p wombled JTD = 12p :T
Also had to get some Coffee Mate so on a seperate shop £2.18 - £1.27+31p wombled JTDs = 60p
and in A's 6 pk lemon curd tarts 9p (Mum's fav) and a cheese s/w filler 9p = 18p
So total spend today = £1.46 :j
And I'm gutted that I can't eat any of it as I have an ulcer on the side of my tongue the size of Mount EverestGreat for the waistline though eh?! :rotfl:

i had the same problem with my tv, only thing i could do to solve it was i had an extention/power surge lead that has a power on off switch, so i screwed that to my tv stand at the back were i can easily reach then plugged all my tv, dvd, wii all into that, i now use that as my power on/off switch for them all iykwim

Oh that sounds wonderful, Disney is so magical regardless of your age, there's just something about it be it nostalgia or believing in the make believe...it's all just MAGIC!
My favourite time we went to Disney was at Halloween :jIt really is something extra special to go over there during a major holiday, they go all out with the decor and celebrations.
A Disney flashmob?! :j:j:j:j
And Auchan! :rotfl:I loved that place because of the kids trollies with the flags'There are people who have money and people who are rich' :heart2: Coco Chanel0 -
