I've just come in from the garden, spent 4 hours out there getting it back in shape. Amazing what happens to the weeds when it rains. I always get a little bit carried away out there though. I was sweating out there though, thermometer was saying 11 degrees C but the sun had other ideas!
Off now to find a decent recipe to for candied angelica. Slightly annoying, I found one a few years ago that required a couple of days to do and it was wonderful, but can't find it anymore! Anyone with decent recipes? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Oh does that remind you of anyone she said. (My sadly deceased Dad was a baker)
Yeah I replied (He'd be in the kitchen on a Sunday morning making loaves).
Came off the phone to me Mum. Thought about it and cried me eyes out.
Silly old Mad
Nothing silly orabout that.
I cry when i think about my dad my fondest two memories are of him sat in kitchen on step ladders rolling his ciggies mixed shag in liquorice papers on kitchen top on chopping board lol and him watching horse racing or snooker on tv. If you tried to speak when he was watching tv he let out a huge schhhhh and sigh.
Holding back the tears now

My variation on the recipe:
1 onion diced
2 tins T Value mushy peas
1 tin East End tomatoes (the 3 for £1 ones)
4 mushroom
A good sprinkling of T Value curry powder
4 sweetners
Simmered for as long as it takes T Value oven chips to cook.
It was yummy. The kids ate it. :T
Sounds good but I'll omit the sweeteners, and use garam masala and selection of other spices instead of curry powder. Will serve it with rice. I'll see if I can remember to take a pic before I scoff the lot!0 -
Afternoon all!
Thanks to Jane Blackford, Issyc, Bear and Emmalouie for your helpful comments re my current parenting issues. Defo some things to try there.
Sounds a bit like my DS. He has only recently (last few months) started using the toilet, he is also starting school in September. He wears night time nappies as not dry then yet but hasn't had any accidents in the day. My main worry with him though is that he is refusing to do number 2 on the toilet and holds it in all day until he gets his night time pants on.
I am convinced he is a little OCD as he has set ways of doing things and has to follow the same routines each time, the most annoying part though is his fussy eating- everything on the plate has to be separate and not touching. he will not eat food mixed together and will not eat chips/bread/potato etc if there is sauce from other food on it.
Hopefully they will grow out of it eventually
Emmalouie - I found your post v reassuring, if only because it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one with such issues! When we analyse my DD's behaviour we often say it's quite OCD. I know it's not necessarily right to give labels but it's easily done and never in front of her. The behaviour can be sooo frustrating and irritating and I find it really hard to decipher whether she is being a difficult pre-schooler or if she genuinely can't control her behaviour towards certain things. Does your DS have any obsessions? My DD is totally obsessed with ladybirds (hence my user name lol).0 -
Sorry, another question does anyone know if the new muller light greek yoghurts are free on slimming world?http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=muller%20light
Showing cherry and honeyed peach online but there is also a coconut one which I bought. Just come on offer at half price.
Coconut is quite nice tastes more of greek yoghurt than coconut though
They are all half a syn a pot. I had the cherry, and it was nice, but not amazing.
BTW if anyone wants a use for their mushy peas, I've heard people at my SW group recommend SW pea curry (personally I dont like mushy peas or curry!)
There is one recipe here -

Did you guys see ' our ' Martin on Daybreak TV this morning .
he tried to get it over that it's up to us to do the work in changing and moving providers to save money while Clegg wanted the money making and raking companies to throw away their profits in order to keep us satisfied .
If t came down to a vote on any type of sense 'our' Martin would get mine .
At least he is a realist and has his finger on the pulse of the ordinary man/woman .
The problem is we/us are usually too lazy to do anything about it and the Govt think we need to be nannied into everthing!!:eek:Ingredients for the Value ketchup: Tomato Puree,Glucose-Fructose Syrup ,Spirit Vinegar ,Maize Starch ,Salt , Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid) ,Onion Powder ,Spice Extracts. ,Prepared with 116g of tomatoes per 100g of finished product.
Ingredients for the Heinz ketchup:
Tomatoes (132g per 100g Ketchup),Spirit Vinegar ,Sugar ,Salt ,Spice & Herb Extracts (contain Celery) ,Spice

Hi, does anyone know if the Tesco Value Tuna Chunks in brine have been reduced yet ? (were 59p last time I bought some).
My cats are partial to these as a treat (they wont eat the flakes, only chunks or tuna steak!)
Thanks IA0 -
