Has anyone been underpaid ESA today, I have just checked my bank statement and confused as to why I have only been paid £188.50 instead of £377. Obviously cannot tel. DWP until Tues. Was relying on this to pay my £199.58 water bill which should have been paid on April 1st. Am now in deep doo doos. Diane
  • Ok, so our ESA payment was due to go in today (Good Friday). According to Juleen, they were told it would be paid a day early instead. However, this hasn't happened, either.

So we're now stuck with no money till possibly after the holiday weekend; no food in the flat to speak of; electric on emergency and possibly going to run out over the extended weekend; and several bills to pay which we were relying on getting done today. In addition, I've got no way to find out *when* the payent will be coming through, nor is there any recourse to a crisis loan, even though I think this is a situation which would certainly warrant one!

The Government is clearly right - there's nothing wrong with the benefits system apart from us wee scrounging b*st*rds at the bottom of the pile trying to squeeze every penny we can out of the system...

I thought it was paid every two weeks.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I have always been paid every 4 weeks. Diane

Right have sussed something out, was paid £377. on 8th Feb. (at that time still on IB), on checking my ESA outcome letter, it states that I will be transferred to ESA on 24th March and will be paid 2 weekly.

Does anyone know who I telephone to find out where the missing 2 wk IB payment is, will it be the number on my ESA letter. Diane
  • Firstly Hi all.
I found this site looking for ESA payments over this Easter Holiday time.
As for your missing payment Foxy16 you will need to phone your new benifit 1stly and ask them to contact IB on your behalf, 2ndly contacting IB yourself. That way you have covered all bases.
I had a similliar problem when me and my now husband started a joint claim, but JSA stopped his payments too early, but I asked ESA to contact JSA on his behalf and 6wks later he got the payment he was owed.
I hope someone/anyone find this helpful.....

Hi Good Friday is this Friday 29th March and it's only Wednesday (27th March) evening now, so your payment should be in tomorrow (Thursday 28th March).
I'm hoping our payment is there in the morning, if its not I'll be straight on the phone until they PRESS ENTER on the payment. A couple of times our payment hasn't gone through, and the only reason is that someone hasn't PRESS ENTER in the payments Department.
