Hi
My marriage has ended after 14 years, the lieing cheating rat finally left and initiated the divorce thank goodness because even though i am better off without him i know, it would of been hard for me to make that decision. Anyway to cut a very long story short, i want to change my surname to my maiden name, what title do i adopt, miss or ms? i have no idea, thanks

There is no problem in changing your name provided it is not changed to deceive or to defraud.
All you have to do is to say that from now on you wish to be known as **** and that is all there is in it.
You have no need to involve the legal eagles in any way.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I always think it's unfair that women are classified by Miss or Mrs letting the world know their marital staus while men are always just Mr. I'd choose Ms." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I'm divorced, I didn't change my name back because of my children, didn't want them to have a differnet name than me, but I am now most definitely a Ms☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Hi
I changed back to my maiden name and i kept the title Miss, As i didnt like the title Ms. Its up to you which one you would prefer? (as my solicitor said)!0 -
Legally you can use any title that you want as long as you do not attempt to gain benefit from using something like Dr.
It is personal preference of Ms or Miss... my other half dislikes the Ms title and so uses MissAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

thanks for all your thoughts ethelbloggs youv given me something to think about, i too dont really want to have a different surname to my kids, it might make some matters confusing but it may be an idea to just change my title to miss as you have done. Keep the thoughts coming!!!!!0

I was told you can use either title. I used my maiden name and Miss as I personally cannot stand Ms! My children still have my ex's surname.
I've since re-married and I'm now Mrs new husbands surname. My children now they want to change their name to their step-Dad's surname. Complicated it is!Here I go again on my own....0
