HSBC Mortgage Aprroval Process - Bank Holidays

Hello
I'm a first time buyer and have a mortgage application with HSBC and we are just waiting for the forms to sign (yes I know very well the issues with HSBC/Countrywide) Regardless of this I'm just wondering if anyone knows what delays the bank holidays are likely to have with our process if we take our signed forms into branch on Thursday? Are they likely to have a skeleton staff on doing these or non at all?
Also do you know if they will accept printed bank statements done in a Santander branch for my current account but stamped by them as part of my ID?
Thanks
