I v a and bankrupt question
Options
Hi ya
I begun with and i.v.a in 2009 then stopped paying in to it in feb 2011 and went bankrupt.
If i search on the insolvency services website there are still 2 cases in my name ( i,v,a and Bankrupt )
Now as bankruptcy drops off the insolvency site after a month or 2 when should the i.v.a?
If not then is there a way to get it removed as technically speaking it is no longer current as i defaulted on the payments and went bankrupt.
Hope that makes sence and thanks in advance .

It's 6 years from date of CCJ for completed IVAs.
I understand what you're saying, that your Bankruptcy trumps the IVA but I think it's unlikely to be any less for a failed IVA.0 -
OK -- the 6 years is in respect of your Credit Reference Agency reports. The IVA will drop off that 6 years after its acceptance, if formally completed or failed). Likewise the BR will go in 6 years (after discharge I think).
As for the Insolvency register ... the BR will drop off that within a few months of discharge, when the OR informs them. The IVA should have doine the same, as long as your IP sent a notice of failure --- it might be that your case is lying dormant and forgotten somewhere.0 -
I don't think anything drops off the insolvency register. Entries have to be removed. I don't know what happens with BR, but I know my IP will remove me from the register when they get their skates on and send me my long awaited completion certificate out -I've asked them about this already - they said it has to go through the courts again apparently!?!!?0

Can i ask why you decided to go bankrupt please hun?! I'm in the exact same boat as you - started paying into an iva in March 2009, and am debating just whether to go bankrupt or not. I'm currently pregnant, living with partner, but renting, its not a mortgage, its his mums house, so its a decent price every month, i have a car. But not sure whether it would just make sense whether to go bankrupt or not. I've claimed PPI's lately, and all the money has allegedly been paid off my outstanding arrears of the loans i owed to. However, my monthly payments into the iva does not change!!! ANNOYING!!!
Any help or advice would be great?!
ThanksComping for Fun!!....Any win is a BonusNo wins as of yet.... Still Trying..!!!Thanks for all the posts everyone!! :T :A :j0
