Need to get skincare...

I have been putting it off for months now and used the last dregs of everything...I need some new skincare items and basicly a bit or everything! (got bits and peices left but not a whole lot).

I had been hoping to take advantage of the Boots 3-4-2 on skincare but it ended not long ago  so no chance there.

I had been hoping what with it being spring that bigger department stores (John Lewis, House of Fraiser, Debenhams...etc) would have some sort of spring skincare boost but its already pretty much Easter now and nothing, not even a hint of a launch of anything.

I am then thinking ebay but really wanted to go shopping in a real store so I can try some new products, half the fun is taking the time out to go shopping as its such a rare moment these days! Its also coming up to my birthday and I wanted to treat myself.

Anyone have any inside info or know of anywhere (blogs or sites) I can watch for any offers and news?

Thanks, the blog is helpful and I will take a closer look, but the problem I have is that my skin is so fickle and decides it doesn't like a product and has various effects, I can normally tell by both reading the bottle/tube/tub and testing myself and really wanted to do this myself so was kinda hoping to find a store somewhere, but the blog is helpful as it shows an additional view point which is always worth taking note of ;)

QVC I have tried before and basicly, they don't deliver to me. Twice I have ordered, twice they have not delivered and the only way I got my money back was to make a complaint. I'm not bowelled over by their skincare ranges which are quite limited, but really, had they not taken their time to wait for things not to arrive (they didn't think to call to ask me why no one had signed for a delivery some 4 weeks later despite the £6 delivery fee) I am just too put off to consider them, they didn't even seem apologetic!

I was kinda hoping someone may know of a skincare seasonal offer coming up somewhere, eg Boots or a department store.

Yes, just realised too but still helpful to read (these types of things interest me anyway!)

Went to Boots and Lush in the end, bit of a treat but Boots had a few advantage card offers I was able to use and Lush offered me the chance to take stuff back if it reacted badly which is always important because sadly, most things seem to!

    Thanks for your help though.

Have a look at the skincare in your local Aldi - it's won lots of awards, costs peanuts cos you're not paying for marketing and posh packaging.

Sadly my skin doesn't feel the same way about Aldi, it gave me spots within a week :( (I get the same issue with many products: Boots No.7, Garnier, L'Oreal -apart from the Youth Code eye cream, Lush.....) I like to try new brands each time I can which is normally every few months as I get bored easily but end up with reactions to so many products!

what about body shop? usually some good offers on their website (if you don't have a store near you). Like you I can't use a lot of skincare as it stings my face, but find bodyshop really good.

Avene, from larger Boots stores, is about the only thing that doesn't make my skin itch and go bright red.
Expensive, but I think it's worth it.
