Hi James
If Freedom are already declared in default (despite them going down under), then it could just be a matter of a few weeks to maybe 2 months at most (is my guess), if the business are waiting to be declared in default by the FSCS, it will take that little longer.
It sounds like they are gathering all the info and passing it on to be dealt with by a team called Deloittes (I also made a claim through the FSCS where the lender was also Nemo but the broker who went into default was Twopart ltd -eloan.
Mine had taken longer because even though the business were listed with the FSCS, it was just a matter of the business being declared in default.
But as said if they are already then you shouldn't be waiting much longer.
If the FSCS/Deloittes require further info, they will write to you.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Just checked now for you on the FSCS site, looks like they are already in default, so all is well then.;)
Search for companies in default
You can search our database to see if the firm you are making enquiries about has already been declared in default by the FSCS. This means that the FSCS is satisfied that it is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it. This opens the way for the firm's customers to make a claim for compensation to us.
Find out if your company is listed in our database
Company name:- Wilmslow Financial Services Plc formerly Freedom Finance Plc, Freedom Finance Limited
Declared in default 26th July 2011

You will get compensated for the PPI, you will get the first £2000 of the PPI back and then 90% of the PPI upwards of that amount.0
