Hi all
Had a citi card for a couple years now, recently taken up an offer low % balance transfer made even better by taking a second card for the wife all ok with bal trans. Any way onto my question been using this card for my ebay online payments through paypal, went to pay for some stuff today paypal came back saying declined due to expiry date out. Now my card has an expiry date of 10/05, so i rang the very nice call centre to ask whats up. was told that they are about to update to chip and pin cards and that it's normal practise that my current card has been stopped and i have no card to use until my new card arrives maybe 7 to 10 days. Which has left me without a means to pay for said goods i'm contracted to buy NICE ONE CITI CARDS !!. Oh yea my question is this normal has it happened to any one else ?.
Regards Hue............

Not sure but they have been messing around with sending out new cards.
As an aside, how come you had a low APR offer and you were using it for purchases?0 -

i would have thought you would have use of the old card at least until the new one arrived (to my knowledge thats how everyone else does it). seems slightly odd but if thats the way they do it, you are kinda stuck...

Not sure what you mean " how come you had a low APR offer and you were using it for purchases? " i had a standard letter with the offer of low % B/T offer so i took them up on that, Like i said have had the card a couple years and was using it to pay for ebay stuff through paypal is it wrong to use the card and transfer a balance to it ?. This is the first time for me with B/Ts so all new to me

Did the low % offer extend to purchases as well as BTs? If it was BTs only then the BTs will get paid off first leaving the puchases still on the card being charged at a (probably) much higher rateGod save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -
