Anyone point me in the direction of whether or not this is a decent company. My wife has told me they are calling round today at 10am. Don't know why she just didn't tell them to do one! As I never get anything from cold calling!

I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Probably the worst firm you could use. Your wife will be busy with them 'til about 1300 if she lets them through the door.0

Don't do it! My nextdoor neighbours had windows fitted by Safestyle due to their "offers" and I believe they were doing interest free credit at the time. Around five years later they are still having problems with the windows and Safestyle are somewhat reluctant to come and sort their problems out.
Plus even with interest free credit they paid substantially more for their windows than I did (exactly the same design of house) with a local company that charged for credit.0 -
The initial visit I believe will be a salesman visit, hes not interested in what you want, hes just there to sell you the product....we actually ended up with 2 very burly men on our doorstep....they were disinterested in what I wanted and didnt even take measurments...but they were very insistant that both myself and my husband would be there during the visit...
We have since had 4 calls from the company all wishing to return to "do it properly"....and have since obtained a very good quote which I am taking up...with a local independant window company who were everything safestyle were not..
.
after my experience I will stay away from safestyle....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
My Brother had them round last week for a bit of fun (he's in the construction trade). The guy started out at £2500 for 2 smallish windows and really started to squirm when asked questions such as 'What is the 'U' value of the window?'. Didn't have a clue.
His last attempt at the sale was the DG Salesman's standard call to his boss to see what 'he could do' with the price (probably actually calling the speaking clock!!) which came back at £700 for the 2 windows which he stated as £350 each.
My Brother then reminded him about their 2 for one offer which surely meant that they would install both for £350.
The guy left after what was probably his hardest 45 min 'sale' for a while empty handed...
MIL also has experience of these jokers, on that occasion, they wouldn't even get the samples out of the car until she signed to say she was going ahead with the order. Needless to say, they also left empty handed...
Stick to the independents. The large players haven't changed their tactics for years...0 -
Thanks for the replies, no less than what I expected!
I actually received a phonecall at about 9.15am telling me, 'Your caller today will be someone called Andrew.'
Then I replied to the caller, 'Phone his mobile and tell him not to bother! As I do not deal with any company that has a cold calling practise. I only deal with people I call or are recommended to me by good honest decent people!'
He then put the phone down on me! Ha ha!0 -
I have had nothing but lies and harassment from Safestyle UK. They are THE worst in the business and I would advise everyone to AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
I am still being pestered by them over the phone despite having told them repeatedly that I absolutely DO NOT want to buy new doors from them.
In addition to being pestered by salesmen, they also appear to use automatic dialling systems, so every time I pick up the phone (sometimes several times a day) there is nothing there but silence.
I called their head office today in order to complain and threatened to report their behaviour, but was informed that all they could do was organise a block to be applied so that my number could not be called by anyone from the company, and that apparently it may take a month for this to be activated! When I told them that this was outrageous, they said that if I received calls from their office during that time, I should just hang up, but if they continue after that time, I should call them again to let them know?????!
Needless to say, after all the hassle I've been putting up with, I'm fuming.
If you would like to read some of the horror stories posted by other people about Safestyle, I suggest logging into the forum on the Consumer Action Group website. I'm not allowed to post a link here, but if you Google 'Safestyle windows reviews', it comes out as the first on the list and is entitled "Safe Style Windows - be warned!!!".
You have been warned! :-(0 -

Just answer the phone and leave to one side for a while. if enough people do this, then it might run up their bill, or at least tie up the auto-dialler, stopping them pestering someone else straight away.0 -
I watched them fit the next door neighbour's windows. Hilarious. They cut the window sill to length by resting it on a dustbin and one foot on it and cut with a hand saw. The rain deflectors above each window were stuck on with double-sided tape. Wonderful - a real eye opener. The neighbours were ecstatic when they ordered them - said it made our Staybrite windows look like crap. They had gold spacers, and mock lead stuck to the insides - this peeled off and curled up inside the space. My friends likened them to gypsy caravan windows. I learnt a lot that day, specially when the fitters adjusted the fit by opening it fully and swinging on it.0
