sony media centre serious system malfunction

I put my computer back to factory settings then when it completed ,it just started restarting then it said "serious system error" and shuts down, and when you try to restart the pc again the blue screen with the system error just keeps coming up then that's when it restarts that's all it does. I can't get the windows vista operating system to start.
can anyone help please?

Start tapping F8 when it boots 'til you reach the Advanced Boot Options screen. Then choose safe mode. It might be an idea to disable automatic restart on system failure too and give us the full stop/error code.

    Any recovery disk?
  • recovery's built in ,so no disc, will give f8 a go n see what happens.
  • I have tried the f8 and i have no reponse. i forgot to mention that the computer monitor has no signal going to it from the pc.

There's no monitor signal because the PC can't boot.
Factory Restore may be built in, but recovery normally requires you to burn your own disks with Vista-did you not do so when you first set it up?
You can try doing a Factory Restore again from start up (check the manual).
Either the restore partition is damaged or you have a failed/failing hard drive possibly.

Do you get any beeps when it turns on. Open it up and check the fan is spinning to cool processor, if not this will cause computer to either reboot or insta shut down as processor heats up too much.

    Failing this it sounds terminal.
  • Theres some beeps when it turnes on, will open it up tomorrow and check fan as its getting late thanks

The beeps will tell you what is working, check the relevant motherboard manual.
