hey its good to see sombody offically representing PC world. Its a much talked about company on forums like this. I think all large companies should have people on large forums. To help promote there image and sort problems out.
I am an ex PC World employee and have seen it from both sides. Especially since going into a store after leaving and picking up on things that people who had not worked for the company picked up on.
In my time working there I worked with some great people, was there sum poo people yes but you get that any where. I think PC's can be such a tricky consumer area, because its somthing alot of people rely on everyday but dont really understand.
So when things do go wrong it can get really frustrating. Even for me sombody who is very computer savy! So when if ur sombody who knows they wont be able to fix this it must be a million times worse.
PC World do also provide solutions with spare machines and 7 day turnarounds which for sombody who just wants to not have to worry can be a great option. However this is not for everybody.
My one real critisim whilst working there, is I feel there should be a basic compute knoledge test for people starting there. The new people tend to be at the front of store and its just embarrising having to take over a sale because sombody does not know what a harddrive is. these people are uncommon, but that is too common0 -
