Personally I prefer loose powder, as pressed powder seems more cakey on me (and I've used it since my 20s..I can't use foundation as my skin texture isn't the greatest). I just use a SPF moisturiser, dash of concealer (Aldi's version of Touche Eclat ;)) and loose powder on top.

My absolute bargainous favourite was Collection 2000's "9: Light Translucent" though they changed their colours a while back, to my dismay. The nearest replacement "2 Translucent" isn't bad but nowhere as good, or as pale, as the original.

I'm pale-pale-pale so I buy the deathliest colours I can find..still difficult nowadays even though there's less orange/pink toned pale powders out there. My skin used to turn nearly every loose powder I tried "orange" (something to do with the ingredients). The Collection 2000 one was the rare one that didn't!

In desperation years ago I used to buy Kanebo powder (which is great), but that cost a packet! :)

Do you all wear blusher with powder? I always remember my Mum just using powder as she got older with no blusher, she said that foundation and blusher no longer felt right on her but then I guess foundations were heavier than they are now. My Mum's skin always looked lovely.

I love Corn silk pressed powder, definately mops up the excess oil without caking. I'm 37 and my mum is 72 and we both use it. I use mineral powder foundation so don't use it so much now but I always have one in my bag for touch ups.

Fusspot: IWhen I wear mineral powder foundation I use a powder blusher (lily Lolo) but if I use BB cream/liquid foundation I use cream blusher (Une from Boots) as it blends better. Then I loose or pressed powder on top to set on my t zone.

  • I use blusher too (Boots Natural Collection again) otherwise I look like the living dead!
