Photo editing software for simple cropping - W7

On my last computer I had a Windows Photo programme that I opened it up and I could 'fix' photos. Just simple cropping and resizing really as I use it for cropping stock photos for my website.

Now I am running on Window 7 and I've downloaded Live Photo Gallery but none of the buttons to edit the pictures are highlighted. It seems to be the default programme as well as I did have a different kind of photo viewer coming up but now I cannot find that.

Can someone tell me the best programme I can use please as I do use it quite a lot - can I just get rid of Live Photo Gallery and not get rid of Live Mail.

I hate changing operating systems. :(

Thanks.

Brilliant - I found it (although I had to google how to find it, LOL) it seems to be the same as the one I was using on the last computer but is called something different.

I wish I could give you 100 thanks!! Fantastic, thank you very much for your help.

If you are doing work on images for a website, have you tried
    Gimp

Totally free, can get a bit in depth but is a brilliant freebie!

I recommend Picasa for simple photo editing - It's free and easy to use.

Ms Office picture manager needs an installation of Office and Gimp is good for advanced editing.

Also Hornil Stylepix (free version) and Faststone Viewer - Both good basic and not resource heavy applications.

OP, I use Windows 7 with Live Photo Gallery and routinely crop photos with it.

    The 'toolbar' looks like this...

When I click on Fix, I see the following menu on the right hand side...

Clicking on Crop photo allows me to adjust just how I want to crop the photo.
    Clicking Apply finishes the job.

Does this not work for you?
