Another thing for the price matching is that it has to be identical, same product from the same manufacturer. B&Q and Screwfix don't always use the same supplier for items, plus as Screwfix tend to sell more of certain items, they can negotiate a better price with the supplier than B&Q can. Also, neither will price match with another if the item is on a special offer at whatever other store.

And I wouldnt have an issue if there were wording at the bottom stating "terms apply" or "visit our website for terms" etc.. but theres nothing. just "we will beat any price", if they decide to exclude x, y or z store then the statement "we will beat any price" simply isnt true.
It's a given that the item has to be idenitcal, etc, but if I read the sign and could walk into a local store (regardless of who owns it) and can buy the exact same item for a lower price, have proof of this and this is not honoured at the till then the advertising is, at best, misleading.
