Carers allowance £58.45 ?

From what date does carers allowance increase? All I've been able to find is that it goes up in April but not what day.
Does anyone know? Thankyou

I've a letter here stating that current rate of CA ends on 6th April (so new rates must kick in on the 7th rather than the 6th as I originally stated).

I dn't think benefits include weekends. If 6th is Fri, then it will be from 9 th :)

Traditionally, benefits would be uprated on the second Monday in April. So unless that has changed in the last couple of years that date should be correct.
If you cant answer the question why do you bother poking your nose in? or are you up for most obnoxious poster of the year award.

I think you still hold the title. No need to worry about losing it anytime soon. :D

It's also possible that someone could be filling out a form and wants to make sure they put the correct information regarding income on the form. We're in the process of doing just that, so thank you for this info - it helped to make sure we put the correct information on it.

Just to chuck a spanner in the works and confuse people more, the 9th is a bank holiday, usualy that means Monday benefits will go in the bank on the friday before, but thats also a bank holiday (good friday) so mondays benefits will go in on thursday, so does that mean you will get the new rate on Thursday, or will you have to wait untill the 16th because its not gone in on a Monday?

Daughter got the new rate of carers allowance today, but I didnt get the new rate of IB, then I read the letter informing me of the changes and it says it doesnt go up untill the 12th April, BUT I change over to ESA on the 11th so that could be the reason mine doesnt go up till then, or its when everyones goes up and thats why they are waiting untill that date to change me over.
