Help with Bra Sizing

I recommend using this site to find your size -

It doesn't use that old "add 4/5 inches" approach, which is just wrong, wrong, wrong.0 -
From what you've said my lovely I think you need to go up a couple of cup sizes and down a back size or two. My advice is to to go somewhere and have a mammoth trying on session of different sizes and styles.
If you check out this thread there's a MSE-er called blue_monkey who is a trained bra fitter. She's given some very helpful advice. I'm sure she wouldn't mind you PMing her.

Who will sell you her bras from her shop (against MSE rules) and her site has more DSR issues than anything
blue_monkey gave me very helpful advice and didn't try to sell me anything - so I don't know about her site.
She just helped me.
(And many others, both on the thread I posted the link to, and via P.M.)
Even if she had tried to sell me something, I would still have been very grateful for the help.
Because after all, pretty much everybody else who advises us on bra fitting also sells bras. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
Blue monkey gave me advice on bra fitting, and never tried to sell me anything.
Later I did ask about the fit of a specific bra from her shop so she gave me advice on that, and it was cheaper from her than anywhere else I could get that style anyway.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I personally hate bra shopping, I hate it less than I did though. I measure 35 under, 43 over!! So you can imagine quite large. I wear a 36 back and H or HH depending on style and I can shop in Debenhams for those sizes, or Bravissimo, as they both stock the same brands Freya, Fantasie, although Bravissimo does stock more brands.
I did try Asda bra, but when I was dancing/moshing/jumping around in a club the underwire came out after only a few months of having it! The bra seemed to have fitted, but it wasn't as supportive as Debenhams/Bravissimo bras.
I went to La Senza once, tried on a G (a while ago), it didn't fit, the dressing room lady says 'what back size?' I said I tried 34 and 36, she said 'you're bigger than that, I'm a 38', I said 'you're probably wearing the wrong size then'! Everytime I go in there for other items, they ask you want a bra to go with that lol.0 -
Have just found this blog, which gives amazingly comprehensive advice about the cut and fit of lots of DD+ bras available. The blogger has tried and reviewed ( very authoritatively!) loads of bras from Bravissimo/ Panache / Freya etc
Whilst I know my correct bra size, different styles of bra fit different shape boobs. This blog has a great search system too, so if you're buying bras online or discontinued styles etc from ebay, well worth a quick check for sizing/shape/fit advice. I have just bought a new bra from ebay and thanks to her advice, knew I needed to go up a back size as the particular bra came up small on band size.

Hope someone else will find it as useful and informative!0 -

I would second the advice to chat to blue_monkey, personally I think you need a smaller band and bigger cup!
I agree - i lost a stone and went down 2 back sizes and up a cupsize - chuffed to bits!
I owuldn't get measured at M&s or Debenhams - go to an independant place who stock differnet makes. Generally they can tell what size, style and brand will suit you just by looking!
Unfortunately for my purse rigby and pellar seems to fit me best :-/People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
