23rd actually, try https://www.game.co.uk , arent the best deals going though. https://www.gamestation.co.uk seems ok . Dont count on it being the best console ever though, average prices for console between £400 and £450 (incl 1 game) and games are now going to cost around £40Like what I said? click thanks!:rotfl: :rotfl:

The best deals are from abroad, £250 for a PS3 from Japan, all in English, plays all PS3 games. Around £300 from the US, cheaper games too.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0

Thats interesting, does the US version play UK bought games and dvds? As Im due to go to the US soon and thought about buying one cheaper there, though someone on here said its unlikely a US version PS3 will play uk bought games and dvds? Are they region locked, and if not. Whats the downside of buying a US PS3 for use back in the UK?
Any info and insight into this will be greatly appreciated.

From what a couple of people I know who have the USA PS3 you can just plug it into the UK mains with no power convertor needed, The games are not region locked so you can get games from anywhere for it, But the Blue Ray discs are all region locked so only region 1 discs will work on a USA PS3.0

Cheapest I have seen is £424 that with no game you could use quidch what give you about 2%. My family going amercia in july so may ask them to get me one. In the mean time I came across a site that said if you sign up and do a thing then refer 13 people they send you one for free. I don't know if this is true but I singed up done a free trial with love film that cost me nothing now just getting other to join it has not cost me anything so thought may as well try who knows.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Im almost positive this is untrue i was under the impression bluray and hd-dvd are region free.
Whats your source on this info?
[EDIT] Im an idiot, it is region locked sorry for the mis information.

so I could play uk games on the US bought console? but I cant play UK blue-ray DVDS's is that correct? Is there any way to play UK blue-ray dvds on the console i.e. a dvd region hack?
and I can just plug in a uk plug without a convertor?
can I ask whats the difference between blue ray dvd and HD-DVD does the PS3 play both of these? I thought it only played blueray?
so confusing, many thanks

Yeah bluray and hd-dvd can be confusing.
In laymans terms they are very high capacity dvds (with storage of upto 60gb  )
They are basically different versions of a similar concept i.e high capacity and therefore high definition media
Annoyingly, different movie studios are supporting different media, some some movies will come out on HD-DVD's and some will be released on Blu-ray most Bluray/HD-DVD players only play one format Including ps3 which will not play hd-dvds (i assume it plays dvds but dont quote me
) The xbox 360 has a hd-dvd add on drive but again this wont play bluray.
For those of you that remember vhs vs betamax this is like that all over again.
I dont know of any region hacks as yet but its syill early days and doubtless someone will find a way but at the moment were stuck in limbo im afraid
To summerise unless you have a hd-tv i really would be overly concerned with either

Thanks so much, we do have a HD ready TV.
to confirm if I buy a US PS3 I will be able to play UK bought PS3 games but not UK bought 'blue-ray' DVDs?
And there isnt a hack/way to play UK blue-ray discs on it yet?
Is this correct, so the only downside of us buying a US PS3 next month is that we wont be able to play UK blue-ray discs?
Its so confusing, many thanks in advance.
