lost money online

Options
not sure if i am in the right place but here it goes,
my oh has an additions account and paid £60 into it via her online bank account, usually this is and has not been a problem, however since they have changed the way they operate and given us new account numbers, they say they have not recieved this payment. i have sent copies of the statement and the account numbers she paid into and they still say they cannot find this payment.
i am wondering weather i can claim this back via my bank ,ie a charge back, does any one out ther know what i can do as we seem to be in a bit of a stale mate.

  • go into your branch and ask them to put a trace on the payment....they may charge you for this though and I'm not sure if there is a minimum amount the payment should be for.....
  • i am just looking at this site as i am trying to help my dad. he transferred 6000 euros on 16th feb from solbank in spain to a lloyds tsb account in the uk and it has not turned up! we understand from lloyds that only solbank can put a trace on the money. another week after asking they have not done this and have no urgency atall. who if anyone is liable for the money and what can we do to get it back?

The sender of the money (in this case Solbank) is responsible for chasing it up as they will have the electronic audit trail to follow to locate your father's money.
It may be of some interest to you that LTSB have now got an account for ex-pats living in Spain where I think transfers are free.
