Hi,

I currently have a credit card with natwest and have just applied for a balance transfer credit card.

However, for some reason I have been declined? What effect will this have on my credit rating and any future applications?

Appreciate any advice.

Shouldn't be too too much damage - you might just not have been their type of customer at the exact time you applied - try elsewhere but don't keep hitting apply - too many searches will become a pendulum of declines..

Nationwide said no to me the same week Metro and Tesco said yes (with decent limits too).

Don't be put off...but if you get declined again check your Experian file..

The fact that you have been rejected will not appear on your credit report, only the fact that you applied, assuming the process got to the stage of a credit search.
