Cheque - a question...

Hiya
Have received a cheque which has been payable to me but says an account number after it
eg: Pay - crawley_girl into acc 12345678
Cheque received from reclaiming bank charges. Only that account is now closed and has been for about 3 years now.
Question is, can I pay it into any account in my name cos it is made out to me or does it have to be rewritten minus the account number?

No, the number is the bank account number to which I was claiming bank charges from. Account was closed 3 years back.
Am gonna try and pay it in and see if the cahiers say anything
