Door handle colour on white UPVC

Some advice pl on colour of handles for new UPVC windows and patio for easy maintenance. Black door with gold handle and letter box will look nice but am concerned about the tarnish. I know gold handle will look also nice on white UPVC, but am undecided. Opinion, pl. Thanks

Most handles and letter plates on uPVC doors are aluminium so won't tarnish, but like all metals can scratch slightly over time.

Gold will look smart on black as will chrome or stainless silver.

The door is composite and the windows are UPVC. The salesman said gold tends to tarnish with time. I guess will have to have another good look at the show room and then decide. Thanks

I had brass / gold handle on my composite door and it pitted very quickly and badly..... it was a house on the coast which may have sped up the corrosion but I was still unimpressed. All this brass coated stuff seems pretty crap nowadays!

I've gone for white handles which just blend discreetly into the white uPVC frame; no need to co-ordinate with anything.

The handles are easy to replace and can be picked up fairly cheap off ebay. If your colour choice doesn't work out you can always change it later.
