would you consider a B&B or hotel for just two nights . try laterooms etc and see what pops up . A little late to book places and most of the top spots will be full. good luck. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Does it have to be the Lake District? In my experience the Lake District tends to be far more expensive for accommodation. We tried to get a last minute deal last October half term and the Lake District prices were a lot more than anywhere else.
What about Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland, Peak District, SW Scotland?0 -
Try the Eden Valley then travel into the Lakes.0

No it doesn't have to be lake district but as wear eating our grandson away for the first time as lake district wasn't that far from us and we know it pretty well we thought we would try.
I don't mind other places but have no idea where to go.
Any ideas on what is vacant0 -
