How Long Should I Expect To Wait For An Item I Have Bought?

Or is it how long is a piece of string. Won an item on Sunday 21st and not got it yet. Paid by paypal straight away. Sent email yesterday asking seller but no reply so sent another today. To be fair they might not have had a chance to see yesterday's email and I dont want to hassle them. Its a pressie which I need by 5th which I have put on my email. I thought if I paid straight away it would be posetd straight away or am I unreasonable. Seller has 12 stars and 100%. THANKS.

Do you mean the 21st january (which was a Sunday) or the 21st of Feb (which was a Wednesday)?

To be honest, yes, slightly unfair. Not all sellers can get to the PO everyday of the week. If you need something urgently, it is best to contact the seller before you buy the item to make sure that they can dispatch the item quickly. having said that, a good seller should put details of how long it will take them to dispatch the item in their auction listings, especially if there could be some delay.

On a similar theme, I received the dispatch confirmation last tuesday (20th)

Item has still not arrived and I emailed the seller this afternoon and they've asked me to wait til friday.. what's worrying me is that I actually ordered the item on the 11th.. I don't want to wait and find I've run out of time to do a dispute or whatever it is you have to do if it doesn't turn up

What you are saying doesn't make any sense. You said you bought the item on the 21st, now you say you ordered it on the 11th and then you said you received dispatch info on the 20th.

You have 45 days in which you can start a PayPal dispute, so you still have plenty of time.

Royal Mail ask you to wait 15 working days after the date the item was supposed to arrive, before they consider it to be lost. So if the seller posted it on the 20th, they are not being that unreasonable to ask you to wait until Friday (although it's pretty poor that they didn't dispatch it sooner).

the delay in despatch was my fault, cos I hadn't used ebay in almost a year, my card had expired and i forgot to add the new one, so the payment went thru as an e-cheque.. 9 days to clear :mad: All sorted now tho So they were very good to be patient and wait for that, although as soon as I realised the problem I gave them the option of paying some other way.

Let's hope it turns up soon.. I'm really excited like a kid at christmas, lmfao

LOL, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

if it doesn't arrive, contact the seller again. Any decent seller should give you a refund or offer to send a replacement (if they have one). Should they not do this or try to mess you around, then is the time to escalate it to a PayPal dispute. Just keep an eye on the date and those 45 days, just in case.

Just noticed - I won it on 18th Feb but the payment didnt show on my account until till 21st Feb which is where that date came from. No replies to my emails yet?
