ive just been succesful in claiming money back for mis sold ppi through a claims handler is there any way round not having to pay a big chunk of this money to claim handler

Yes. Don't employ them in the first place.
If you do, then it is too late to complain about it afterwards. As much as I dislike claims companies, they have every right to be paid for doing the job you employed them today. You only have grounds for complaint if you can show a breach of "The Conduct of Authorised Persons Rules 2007, published by the Ministry of Justice.0
