Could someone please tell me the order of work for a bathroom renovation?
Bath in same place but also a shower fitted (run from combi boiler).
Sink and toilet moved onto next wall. (Toilet in same place but soil pipe will be "sideways" on instead of at the back at present)
Plastering and / or Tiling and floor tiling.

I had a complete bathroom suite replaced last year. From memory, the order of the work was (some of these may not apply to you):
1. Gut bathroom (remove everything, strip walls, strip flooring);
2. Plumbing (water, waste);
3. Electrics (extractor fan, isolator switch, lighting, light switch);
4. Skim walls;
5. Painting (walls, ceiling);
6. Position bathroom suite, fix/test;
7. Hang wall units/floor units;
8. Tiling;
9. Window boards;
10. Final fix of plumbing/tightening/sealant/testing;
11. Flooring (floor tiles in my case);
12. Skirting board (this was actually a very thin, low plastic skirting board for bathrooms);
13. Cleanup/polishing.
From what I saw, most of the work was prep work. It's very important to get the plumbing spot-on. I drew very detailed plans of each wall, the ceiling and the floor with measurements down to the centimetre so that things would fit properly.
Also remember how difficult it is to be without a functioning bathroom, even for a day. I stayed with my parents for two weeks!Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -
