no it's nothing to do where you live at all as people in big cities are having just as hard a time of it getting a job etc
If you average things out though I say I get more interviews than you, I've applied for about 9 jobs since Jan, been to 8 interviews I think, and 1 job offer, Which isn't really bad stats I guess, Its just lack of actual jobs around here, You have a hell of a lot more choice than me though but seem to have poor odds.0 -
so then you are working? If you have applied and there was only 30 people applying of course you have more chance getting an interview. When you are applying for jobs with more than 300 people then it will be differentIf you average things out though I say I get more interviews than you, I've applied for about 9 jobs since Jan, been to 8 interviews I think, and 1 job offer, Which isn't really bad stats I guess, Its just lack of actual jobs around here, You have a hell of a lot more choice than me though but seem to have poor odds.0 -

No, Only wish I was working, but its coming fairly soon, I can feel it in me waters:D0 -
I think it massively depends on where you live. I remember someone was on here before saying they had experience as a shop manager but there were no jobs going in their area and they were struggling to find work. Where I live, there are tons of jobs in retail, at all levels! Then another lady posted about an area of work she was looking for in Scotland - I think she said there were around 8 jobs when she did a search- I did one and 10s came up. And unemployment levels are low here, so youve also got a better chance of getting an interview.0

I really think it comes down to where you live. My OH been unemployed since mid 2010 (left his job so we could move closer to mine, then I got put on notice of redundancy. Then we moved to Birmingham Mid 2011 for my new job)
He's been looking since July 2011 and so far only had 5 interviews to date. 9 Months so this is pretty bad. Interview feedback all good but someone always better!0
