So
You ordered and paid for them
You cancelled them
You got a refund
You got the goods
You actually want the goods
If you want the goods, why did you cancel them.
If you want the goods either
1. Contact them and pay for them
2. Get them opened, use them and put the money away and if they contact you for payment, just pay for them.
Job done and dusted.
I dont understand where 'court action' is coming from.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I just have no idea where I stand, because this has affected so many people, it's not just me, I spent over an hour reading similar stories about this company on trust pilot. One person is currently taking them to a small claims court.
I don't want to go through court action, I'd just be happy having my bean bags and leaving it at that. I just don't want them to contact me in a few months saying that I owe them money.
You can issue them with notice that you intend to sell the goods and recover your losses from the selling price (ie the delivery charge + any costs incurred in selling the goods). You would though have to realise a fair value for the goods and how ever much is left over belongs to them.
Otherwise you are left with the following options
- email Groupon to repay the amount they refunded you
- keep the goods, say nothing but run the risk of them pursuing you later on0 -
I think, you'll probably find it was just idle curiosity rather than wanting to cause a pointless argument.
I cant think for the life of me how it would do so, but there you go.
It tends to fit the pattern on MSE. A new poster asks a question, someone comes along and asks an argumentative question, such as, "why would you expect a refund, you've got the item?"The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I see what you mean, maybe I'm too trusting, I didnt even think of it that way, I just thought it was an idle curiosity question because I was thinking exactly the same thing myself.
I'm only 5!2" x 7.5 stones, I darent argue with anyone:D

Groupon refunded me immediately following cancellation.
About 3 weeks later the product arrived.
I've read on a forum somewhere that Groupon allegedly have not paid this company, not that I think this makes any difference.
And I do actually want the product, it was a birthday present for my fiancee, it's currently sitting at my mum and dad's house (my old address) and i'm desperate to get them out of their boxes!!! (They are 2 big boy bean bags).Spoiltlove wrote: »Oh - something that might interest you - I've just been on said forum (it's trust pilot) and the top review for the company says that Groupon have taken it upon themselves to cancel any further outstanding orders...

I am now confused. You cancelled, got a refund, but they turned up anyway? What do want to happen now?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
To be quite honest, I think the whole thread has been a storm in a teacup.
Ring them up and pay for them (you said you wanted them, so for the life of me I dont understand why you cancelled them)
or use them and put the money away for when they chase you.

Simples.
The trouble with this is, who does the OP pay the money to? If they pay the money to Groupon, will they pass that on to the supplier? If they pay the money to the supplier, will Groupon then start chasing the OP for payment? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Pay it to Groupon, who will in turn pay the share to the supplier.
Keep copies of the transaction for future reference.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Recent events at Groupon would not give me confidence they would actually pass this money on, to what appears to be, a struggling business. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
