New central heating estimate ?

I am buying a house which has currently has storage heaters and I will be removing these and replaces with central heating.

There are no concrete floors and I would want all pipe work to be hidden under the floor boards.

These are my estimates..

Supply and fit…

Good Combi boiler and 8 radiators £3000
Remove old hot water tank.
Mixer Shower £300
Mixer Shower Fitting £100 (doing all tiling myself)
Bathroom Extractor Fan £150

Would the plumber fit a Extractor fan?

New Bathroom Window fitted £200

Do they look reasonable estimates?

How many people have you had around to estimate. You should have 3 at least, and also ask a few friends in the area if they can reccommend anyone they know or may have used. The prices seem reasonable, but its worth getting a few quotes
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

You should be able to do the boiler and rads for less than 3k, boiler will cost about 800-1000 and the rads shouldnt be more than 300-400, then its just a case of the labour charge for fitting but all in should be about 2k

The prob you will have with a plumber fitting an extractor fan is where to get the electrical feed from, and with part P build regs youd need a certified electrician for this

ch cost about 1600 to 3k, depending where you live/size of house.
your wife/child can remove the old tank!
mixer can get cheaper off ebay etc..
fit the mixer yourself and save the 100. if you can tile then im sure you can fit a simple mixer shower?
extractor fan from BQ about 30/50 quid. fit yourself again. should get a sparks to wire it up. (part p regs).
    window? supply and fit price?
window from wickes, about 50/100 quid. fit it yourself again. ditto simple enough.
    Get some gorm.

Had no estimates, these are all my own guess’s for the budget. Buying the house and just needs figures to go in the budget.

In answer to your question, I think that your "guesstimates" are about right (maybe a little low - depends if the builders encounter any problems etc !! - also eg. would you need any plastering doing after rads / pipes fitted etc ?)

I live in the NW and this is based on my own personal experiences (maybe I was ripped off !!).

    Have you looked at mrcentralheating.com?

I got my combi boiler (Glowworm 30CXI) SEDBUK A rated
    7 rads + TRV's

    60m of 15mm copper
    30m of 22mm copper

    + Delivery
    TOTAL £985

This was last March time - so I don't know if the prices have gone up?
Then got a plumber to fit - could work out under 3K...
