Arrgghh. I'm trying to locate the pic on the net..Like finding a needle in a haystack - I managed to determine it's a match between Sutton United vs Hampton & Richmond. Tried using tineye picture finder but no joy either :-(

I'm pretty sure with 'spot the ball' competitions, they're not allowed to use the actual location of the ball to pick the winner (I remember seeing this on a documentary a few years ago), as it's asking people to predict the outcome of an event that's already happened.
Instead they get a panel of judges (or a work experience kid..) to predict where the ball probably is based on their photo with the ball removed and award the prize to whoever is closest to their guess.
So it doesn't really matter where it actually was in real life, I have a feeling your research was in vain.0
