I have an induction one and would never go back to anything else. Soo easy to clean and the induction control is brilliant.

If gas wasn't an option, I'd want an induction hob. The ones I've tried out were very fast to heat things and responded quickly to adjustments. The only downside really is that induction hobs are more expensive than gas and have more components that may fail, so where a fairly middle of the range gas hob tends to last well and cook well, I suspect you need to spend more for an equally good induction hob. Gas is also a lot cheaper than electric, so you save there a bit too.

I love mine, I just wipe over and then occasionally use the scraper and blade kit from Lakeland which brings it up as good as new.

Another vote for induction over any other type - I've moved from gas to induction and I can't believe how fast and controllable it is, plus easy to clean. I got a Neff for less than £200 by shopping round for it on tinternet :j:j

Thank you all we went out and got a samsung stainless steel oven (with a timer to turn it on later in the day) and ceramic hob (with child lock) for £329.99 even tho the oven was 359.99 if bought on its own!

I agree with all of the above. Have had mine about 5 years and its fab. No complaints here at all-far better than solid hotplates which I found had 2 heat settings, boiled to within an inch of it's life or raw lol

Also love my ceramic hob. Couldn't imagine having the time to clean all those bits on a gas hob! Mine (neff) came with the scraper but extra tough burnt on bits. I have only one tiny scratch and have had it six years. Just use a little washijng up liquid on a value sponge scrower to clean mine. Best to do it before it really dries on. Enjoy your new hob - I don't think you will ever want to go back to your old one.

I have an induction hob and I wouldn't swap it for anyting! I just give it a quick wipe over with a cloth and some hot, soapy water. In fact, I don't think it's actually possible to get it all gunked up with stuff :rotfl:

We had one of the hobs with raised plates when we moved in and lets just say it wasn't my favourite :o It wasn't easy to clean what with all the knobs and crevices.

Glad you got what you were looking for! :j
