Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st April 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Up far too early for me on a sunday, but dd is off to work, being collected at 6ish, and I always feel I need to get up with her, never mind, I shall have a cuppa wait for her to go and then sneak back to bed for an hour :D

Local tiny car boot sale later, its only once a month during the summer, but its usually a fab one, so shall nip to that.

OH built me a shoe rack for the understairs cupboard yesterday, its been driving me mad, everyone just opens the door and chucks their shoes in, which gets in a terrible mess, anyhoo he made it up in about an hour or so and its fab, I love it :T

Not sure whats for dinner, no roast for us on a sunday, we have ours during the week, as we are always too busy at the weekend.

Have good days all xx

Oh dear :o, I knew there was a reason I did not get up at this time on a sunday, sorry dont think I can change the thread title, we will have to pretend all day :D
  • Good morning redruby, basil92 and to all who follow,
Floss, happy birthday for yesterday, hope you enjoyed your day :D.
Redruby, when we lived in our last house we had a small cupboard under the stairs too where we used to put the shoes. I know what you mean about everyone just throwing the shoes in. I used to be the one to haul them all out and put them back into pairs again, neatly!
Lovely and bright here at the moment, think it is going to be like this for the rest of the day. Washing is out, more in the machine.
Got a mountain of ironing to do today. May get some of it done ;). Got to plant some more seeds in the greenhouse. We were given some raised beds yesterday so we are going to get those stained this morning.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning all
It's sunny here at the moment, lets hope it lasts as I have washing on the line.
No plans for today, apart from more housework & making a start on some prem baby knitting, as some of our students have started a knitting club & are knitting for our local prem baby unit.
    Roast lamb for lunch today.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Sunny and bright here this morning.

We were naughty yesterday and bought takeaway for dinner, enjoyed but won't be a regular occurrence as too expensive. Remembered to get chicken out to defrost, so we will be having roast chicken, roast pots, mash, cauli/brocc cheese, carrots, peas, yorkshires, stuffing and gravy. Have done a menu plan for the week so should be able to not buy too much more foodwise.

We're definitely having the car we went to look at, it's very nice and looks like being cheaper to run and insure than what we have already, so spent yesterday doing some trawling of websites to see about insurance etc. DH worked yesterday morning so just had a lazy day when he got back, I organised him some food and he had a bath and then chilled, he is popping out this morning to collect some caravaning bits from friends of ours that are currently staying 2 miles away - to save us going to collect/them coming to us from their home which is 30 miles away! We will then go out together to try to get some diesel as the big car is running on fumes and I've tried to 2 days to get diesel and had no luck - hoping reasonably early on a Sunday morning will be a good time and the fact they have now said they won't be striking over the Easter weekend, may have deterred people!

Was lucky yesterday played some on-line games and won £50 - and didn't part with a penny to win either - so very happy!

Won't be doing too much other than prep and cooking Sunday roast today, as this week at work will be horrendous - start of the financial year and c/tax - it's always awful and very very busy, and people moaning about the wait to be seen, waiting to pay etc - so looking forward to that! deep joy!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Hi Guys!

The nurses have already been in, so that I'd say hello again:D In a lot of pain today, but I'm still able to delegate;)

DD got the spagbol HM sauce out the freezer for lunch, so we just need to add the spaghetti. Promised DD & her BF that we'd have a basic BBQ later, so we have good quality burgers and the nice hotdogs in already. We have all fresh salad, quiche, sausage rolls, couscous and coleslaw. OH just needs to pick up a baguette and we're done. More like a buffet really. Have my niece staying at the moment and she eats salad like a rabbit:D

WM is on and DW too. House clean and pretty tidy.

    Have a good day.

    Good Morning All

Hope the pain subsides today PP
Shez - hope you are ok (((hugs)))

Not posted last couple of days as been too darn busy. Got lots of office work done and that is such a relief.

Washing machine is now working properly so needless to say the ironing pile as massive  hope to get some done today.

Off out at lunchtime to meet someone for work then OH is taking us out to eat. Not sure if DD will come with us, she was at a party last night & stayed the night - probably got no sleep.

Sun is shining but definitely feeling a lot colder than it has been.

Off now to make another coffee then jump in the shower, have a great day all.

BB, I hope you manage to get rid of the bugs soon, my DGC's have all had the sicky bug. My oldest was in SCBU too, he's 34 now, but it was a worrying time.
