Stupidly deleted an unknown folder

I had forgotten that I'd selected "show hidden files and folders" a week ago, and left it selected. Having forgotten that I'd done that, when I was going through my folders, I noticed one that I hadn't set up and didn't recognise, and when I opened it there was nothing in it, so I deleted it. A few days later I remembered that I hadn't reverted to "do not show hidden files and folders", and then panicked because I remembered that I'd deleted the folder that I didn't recognise, and thought that it might have been one that would normally be hidden. I realise that it was a very stupid mistake to make, but I've done it now .
I can't remember the name of the folder but think it began with the letter P. When I was looking on a laptop (which uses VISTA) just to check it out to see if I could find what it might be, there was a hidden folder called "Printhood". I've since emptied my recycle bin, so the option of restoring isn't available. If it is the folder "Printhood", is deleting it going to cause any problems as it was an empty folder. Does anyone know if I should have a "Printhood" folder somewhere on my computer as it uses Windows 7 and not VISTA (as on the laptop I was checking it against).

Likely to apply to Vista

If you have not got printers installed on the laptop it should not be a problem
If you install a printer, it may create the folder then
Also worth re-creating the folder, though only if you get any error message0 -

It's not a laptop that this happened with, it's my PC which uses Windows 7, I only checked it against a laptop which uses VISTA.
Did you mean it's likely to apply to just VISTA?
I have recently installed a new printer, as this is a new computer and I installed the printer when setting everything up. I haven't had an error message - yet. How would I recreate the folder, and where would I put it (politely!)0 -
The link was to a forum which was about an XP machine, and I put it will likely apply to Vista, and it will likely apply to Windows 7 as well
Re-create it from where you deleted it from, if you can recall the location.
If the printer installed, was it after deleting the folder, if so, have you checked for the folder now
I have around nine printers installed and cannot see the folder on a Windows 7 PC
If the printer runs as it should, I wouldn't bother trying too hard to find it
If you need a new folder, right click an empty space in the location, choose, new, then new folder and name it0 -

I could kick myself for doing something so stupid. I'm not that technical, and have been downloading, exporting and importing stuff from my old computer to this new one. I was quite pleased with myself for having managed so far, so am really pis*sed off that I've made such a stupid basic mistake. Thanks for your help, I just hope I don't need to do what you say, as I can't remember from where I deleted the folder!
Just a matter of interest, would this folder be for things associated with printing (I know that might sound like a silly question, given the name of the folder!), so if it is, would removing the software for the printer and reloading it solve the problem if I found the printer/scanner/copier wasn't working?0 -
From post two here
http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1231129.htm
" As far as I know Printhood holds shortcuts to printers "
Going by that, the worst (possibly) that could happen is you click a link to print something and nothing happens, say file then print from a Word document.
I would go with " if it ain't broke don't fix it " unless you absolutely have to
As before, I cannot find the folder and I looked in hidden files etc.0 -
