Thanks everyone for your help. I'm going to try to get her down to the branch this morning as it's a 'walk-in day' on a Monday. Might have to wait a while but it's the better option at the moment, then I'll sort out a POA if she agrees.0

No, it's definitely a Santander debit card so don't know what the problem is.0 -
Couldn't get mum down to the bank in the end so for now I've applied for an eSaver account for her. Trying to get an appointment at the moment is like pulling hens' teeth so I'll arrange one later to sort transfers etc when the ISA frenzy has died down. They don't appear to be interested in anything else at the moment - what an excellent strategy to antagonise and lose loyal long term customers! :mad:0

hi beardiedog, my friend also had an issue with appt with santander and we have 3 branches here. Apparently it's end of financial year / tax year. Anyways, if it helps have a speaker phone so that you can tell your mom what they are asking for when you phone them.
Some CS on the phone are quite understanding and they allow a 3 way conversation as long as it's mom that answers the question.0 -
Hadn't considered that, thanks c_denise.0
