How to extend a laptop 1 year warrenty for free?

Thought to post this on the Techie Thread, as I am already familiar with the Consumer Rights discussions (see here)
Marks and Spencer and John Lewis both offer a free 2 year warranty on all laptops they sell.
I understand that Asus and Sony offer their own 2 year manufacturer's warranty on some models if the item is registered within 60 days of purchase.
Please add retailers and manufacturers to this list.

I just bought a laptop from the Dell Outlet.
These are refurbished laptops sold at 30% to 50% discounts, through the main Dell dealership. Note that the options change constantly, so keep an eye out for a model that you like...
If you feel uncomfortable with refurbished laptops - then you should
select the BUSINESS & EDUCATION STOCKROOM trolley option, as this gives you a 3 YEAR WARRANTY AS STANDARD
