it's a share trading ISA - you can self-select your shares under an ISA umbrella. I think that the "subscription" limit of £5300 (or whatever) is the cash value - i.e. - if you put £5300 in to the account to "load" it at the start of the year then you can no longer add more cash to that ISA umbrella account - regardless of whether your shares are worth ten grand or a tenner! (i think anyway!)

Don't open an ISA with iii.co.uk if you want to invest in dividend paying US stocks, they do not allow W8-BEN forms and your dividends will have 30% tax withheld by the US. Go with a broker that accepts W8-BEN.

You can definitely buy US stocks in an ISA though.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I hold some US shares (Apple, sweet!) in my Hargreaves Lansdown ISA.

Here is their page on this and links to the forms you need to complete.

I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

I have a virtual portfolio with AAPL shares in H&L which I created last year, wish I had really invested as the price has risen by 59.63% (checked today)

    Invested £1000 now worth £1,596.27 Gain £596.27

Debating if it's worth investing for real, wondering if the price has peaked.

Eurgh - Too late unfortunately. Already opened the ISA and invested £1k before the tax end date.

    What are my options now?

Try throwing some IMG.L in there too and pretend you filled your boots at 20-30p ...

Well, if I knew the answer to that ...
