HI, had to sign up and post after lurking for ages.

The Humax is a good box and comes recommended by many, just make sure the firmware is up to date as there have been a few firmware releases to fix various issues.

I have the Topfield TF5800, this is very similar to the Humax except it is more expensive, available in black, white or silver, has the option of a 160gb or 250gb hard drive and you can upload software modifications to it to customise it.

If you are quite techy then the Topfield would probably suit you better, out of the box the Topfield and Humax are pretty evenly matched but when you add the extra software to the Toppy it is absolutely the best on PVR currently available.

See http://www.hummy.org.uk/invison/index.php for the Humax Owners forums

and http://www.toppy.org.uk/ for the Topfield forums.

Had a Humax PVR 9200T for about 18 months, wouldn't be without it now.
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.
