Advice on best room thermostat?

Hi

I'd appreciate any views on reliable makes of wireless room thermostats, e.g. Heatmiser.

Thanks

I have got a Vaillant wireless thermostat (and a Vaillant boiler). It works beautifully though i can't compare it to any other make as i have only had this one. It was a bit fiddly to set the times at the beginning but I have not had any probs since i got it.

Honeywell CM927. Lots of modes, extensively programmable (six programmable time slots per day) and very easy to use. In fact you coud have different temperature settings at different parts of the day for every day of the week if you wanted to!

I love the 'holiday mode' as I travel a lot. Just set the number of days you're going for and the minimum temperature and it will 'wake' the boiler up when you return.

Switching it off still maintains frost protection. Finally, the batteries last for ages.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

Another vote for the Honeywell. I have one of the wired versions, CM 907.

    Siemens REV24 RF.
  • Agree with the Honeywell or Siemens, both more than capable

Hi, we have a digistat that's linked to our Worcester Bosch boiler. Whilst its a very clever piece of kit both my OH and I find it over complicated, there are numerous settings for holidays / days off/ seasonal etc which we don't need nor use.

We only opted for the wireless digistat due to boiler being in situ upstairs, with the digistat being downstairs hallway for easy access.

If your choosing your own one then give a thought to what you need from it. The engineer who fitted it, had a look at the instructions booklet, looked somewhat lost, then handed them to my OH, who after a brief look at the instructions, then passed it to me to deal with lol and I spent a good hour or so, before I had it set up to suit our needs

Thank you. I should have mentioned that I have a conventional bolier, not a combi or condenser.
