Sorry I haven't replied for a couple of days. I've been working a bit since I got back home.

I struggled doing this course (English Language) as the work was "above" me if you get what I mean. I came from no prior knowledge of the subject and it was fine in the first year as the course was taught without any prior knowledge but this year, it was too big of a jump for me. I'm not ashamed to admit it. In years gone by I would have carried on and struggled without speaking out. Even when I was getting help from tutors, it didn't make sense. I said to myself at Christmas that I have a semester to get my grades up but it hadn't happened. I'd prefer to be out of pocket and happy doing something I can actually understand than doing something that I have lost all motivation for.

So I'm looking at alternatives and the OU is one I am hoping will work as I can study at my own pace.
